Welcome

This book is a photographic look at the post that originated as Camp Jackson in 1917 in the midst of World War I.  We follow the rises and falls of the post as we enter a period of peace and the almost complete shuttering of the camp until the advent of World War II brought it back to life once more.  Camp Jackson became Fort Jackson in 1940.  The book follows Fort Jackson's roles in Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf Wars.  Basic Training is represented here as well as a historic look at the city of Columbia and the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Fort Jackson is available at Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, Booksamillion.com, Walmart.com, and Target.com.  Or you can purchase from Arcadiapublishing.com.  Around Columbia, the book is available at Mast General Store, Uptown Gifts, Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, and the gift shops of the State Museum and the South Carolina Statehouse.
